A donation of new material to the Binneas Collection.

The collection, donated by Phil O’Neill consists of documents and photographs that relate to the formation of the ‘Caherciveen Pipers Band’ in 1933, the fund raising efforts of the committee and the purchase of instruments. The pages also contain the names of the band members.

A lovely new addition to the Binneas Collection from Paddy Corcoran, Cappawee, Portmagee. It was composed by his brother Johnny in the 1960’s.

The song was collected was collected by Peter Mullarkey as part of the Meitheal ininiative supported by Ealaín na Gaeltachta.

Paddy Moulcore’s Reel from the playing of Patrick Donnelly. Patrick learned the tune from his father who played it on the melodeon.

This penny ballad sheet concerns the ship Niagara which took part in laying the first transatlantic cable which crossed the Atlantic Ocean from Valentia Island to Trinity Bay in eastern New Foundland.
