de Valera’s return to power

This tune was played by the fiddler Brennan of Sneem. The story goes that he was asked the name of the tune he was playing as he marched over the bridge in Sneem as part of a parade. His reply was ‘de Valera’s return to power’. Presumably it was sometime after the 1951 general election when de Valera was returned to power without an overall majority.
